It's the end of the season for horsemint and the bracts hold the promise of seeds for next season.
Happy Macro Monday!
To see more, join in at
Lisa's Chaos. There are lots of lovely flowers this week.
Here it is a about a month ago. It's a Texas native.
It's also called bee balm or Monarda.
The cute little blooms of catmint are still going strong.
But the cute little kittens are once again pooped out!
Wish I could relax like that.
They're definitely a basket case.
That's it for today. Thanks for stopping by!

ReplyDeleteMy Monarda is just beginning to open. The bees do love it!
Summer's heat is upon us here on the Tall Grass Prairie...
Hope you are finding shady spots to rest.

Careful. The horsemint promise of seeds for next season may actually be a threat. The flowerheads hold many seeds and they will pop up everywhere. Even so, it is still a great bee plant.
