The last cloud of the day.
HARRIS COUNTY TEXAS
It was hit or miss. The red areas got the most, but even those areas had dramatic differences. Click to enlarge. The link to this data is on my left sidebar for future use. :-)
Woke up to thunder and a storm today. We got .70" here at Tropical Texana...one of the red areas.
Lots of storms around the Texas Gulf Coast these past 3 days. It's a start. Maybe by Thursday more parts of Texas will see rain. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
About 80% of the pine trees are dead at the Arboretum due to the 2011 drought.
David/
\0/ for rain!!!!
ReplyDeletewe got it two nights in a row. Today has been blessedly overcast here at the office. Glorious, glorious rain.
ReplyDeleteWow - I didn't realize that so many pine trees have been lost. They are one of the last to go. I wonder what our landscape will look like without big old majestic trees. I'm so glad you got rain! Wahoo! I, too, got an inch!!!! I was so excited! I'm hoping, too, that this is the start of more.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear about the pine trees. it will be a wait and see thing here to see what returns next year- that is if we ever get any rain. This week, you say. I hope so.
ReplyDeleteHappy you finally got some rain. I got about 1/2 Friday night and another 1/2 inch plus some one inch hail last night. Rain good. Hail not so good.
ReplyDeleteRAIN! We've been getting dead trees over here in Florida too, but not anywhere near that amount. I guess it's just best to look at a drought in the same way you would a hurricane or a fire, that it's just a big clean sweep to start all over or hopefully encourage more drought tolerant plantings.
ReplyDeleteGlad you got rain.
ReplyDeleteWe got a tiny bit over the weekend, here in Wimberley Valley. We'll take whatever we can get.
There will be a lot of trees lost around here, I'm afraid. Sad to see them go.
Let's all hope for a break of this drought soon.
Stay safe..
