Early enormous original ornaments beach ball bonanza? The ginger intrigues me. IS it an edible variety? We eat quite a bit I'd love to know how to grow it.
To answer Sukhmandir's question: The Kaempferia gingers are not the edible type, though one called galangal is used as an herbal medicine. The zingiber genus is used as a traditional ginger spice among others that are less well known. Some are quite potent and can cause hallucinations, so I don't experiment with the Kaempferias as a spice. Tumeric is a ginger from the Curcuma (hidden ginger) genus and very easy to grow from the rhizome found in stores. It's a beautiful little plant that likes high humidity and high temps. Cardamom ginger on the other hand is impossible to grow even in zone 9. David/ Tropical Texana

I will have to think about the ball idea. The Ginger looks great. We have to overwinter them inside, which isn't ideal.
ReplyDeleteA funny idea, I like!
ReplyDeleteI think it's a fun idea for a party, maybe a beach/pool party? Thanks for linkin up for WW!
