Hi David - I have often thought of including a yucca plant somewhere in my garden but haven't yet done so.
In answer to your question, crab grass. Yes, crab grass is my nemesis. Because it is an underground tuber, it is very difficult to eliminate once it grabs hold (and usually around the throat of a favorite perennial).
but totally worth it--gorgeous flower!
