Click on image for the MACRO.....there's a fine line of purple that edges the yellow. Do you see it?
Another species? This was growing along White Oak Bayou.
This is a pale blue Sisyrinchium, perhaps S. campestre. They sow wildflowers along the bayou and this could be anything.
That is a great capture of that beautiful flower! Nice job! I can see the purple around the edges of the yellow. Amazing details, huh? God is such an awesome artist.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful blue-eyed grasses - and yes, I see the purple!
ReplyDeleteYes, yes. I can see the dark purple line that you mention. The bigger image shows much more detail. Wonderful shot!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the beautiful blooms!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flowers with wonderful colors!
ReplyDeleteLovely fragile looking flowers. Probably very hardy! Nature at its best! Thank you! Cathy
ReplyDeleteThis is one of my favorite flowers, soon to bloom in my Texas garden. It re seeds all over the place and I just let it be. Mine must be the longer variety as I see at the Wildflower Center they have some which is very short. Those are the only two I have seen. Never the pale one you showed. I am wondering if this might be more related to Herbertia as the flower form is very similar.
ReplyDeletesuch a fresh blue.
ReplyDeleteGood to see your close-up showing the finely shaped green centre.
Very much earlier than over here in the UK. Mine won't show for weeks yet.
The tall yellow variety isn't anywhere near as pretty. The yellow is sort of greyish.
Any blue flower is a favorite with me!!! Great shots.
